Georgi & Kristiyan

Hello,

Hello,

It’s Georgi and Kristiyan, we were here on an internship from Bulgaria for 2 weeks. We had a great experience working in a foreign country at the Commun-IT Tech Cafe. We haven’t been in England before, so we really enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly and reliable.

Georgi – made videos for the Community Coding Club using Adobe Premiere Pro and Kristiyan called more than 400 schools offering the Coding club. The club is about teaching children basic coding. We had the opportunity to visit schools and work with kids.

We both did researches about schools (DT-Regions) and organized the information using Excel.

On the weekends we visited many sightseeings, such as Tower Bridge, Tower of London and the Natural History Museum. On weekdays we used to go to Oxford Street to do all the shopping 😀

These 2 weeks went by so fast and we spend a good time. If someday we visit London again we will definitely come to see our new friends at Commun-IT.

Best wishes and as we say in Bulgaria – Довиждане!

Georgi & Kristiyan

Matt & Matthew

Oh, hello there.

We’re the 2 Mateuszes, Matt&Matthew, or most likely- M&M 😉

We did the internship @ Commun-IT for 4 weeks, that is 19/09/2017- 13/10/2017.

We separated our work then like so:

Matt- the hardware one, did the hardware things, such as wiring and mounting the shock sensors for the alarm system and , what’s not so hardware- the video tutorial for elderly people on using the YouTube player.

Matthew on the other handside did the software work, such as coding. What he has done is the Data Scraping program in Java which is used to search for the companies data and gather all the usefull telephone numbers or adresses.

We both have been working on the most significant Yellow School Bus a.k.a. IDEAS Bus. We’ve been trying to help Casey, Shaka and Alex with the coding classes in local schools using the FUZE Basic software. Speaking of which, we’ve had the task to make the full Windows 8 bootable off of the USB sticks.

Bout our Internship did not only consost of the work. After the worktime in the weekdays we used to go to Tottenham’s shops a few times, such as the Disney Store, tons of the tons of the clothing and even more of the “cheap” London souvenir stores.

Not only that, on 2 Thursdays, we did the Gaming Nights with the staff and a few of our polish group buddies.

Overall the worktime here was a pleasure and we are looking forward to see you again sometime in the future.

Cheers! 😉

Lisa & Miguel

Hey,

we are students from Germany. We did our internship at Commun-IT for 2 weeks from 30/10/2017 until 10/11/2017. In Germany, we both work as a business administrator and attend the same school in Germany, so we had the opportunity to do this internship here in London. At Commun-It we teached children coding and did researching about schools (DT-Regions). It was a new experience for us to work with children.

It was a great and friendly atmosphere at Commun-IT. On the last day, we took our lunch at Venue5 with Shaka, Alex and Andreas. It was our first time to eat Indian food and it was very delicious. Furthermore, we experienced the VR for the first time it was amazing.

In our free time, we visited some sights in London, for example the London Eye and the Tower Bridge. We enjoyed the wonderful city and the great weather.

Overall, we are thankful for the experience we did the last two weeks.

Best wishes

Lisa & Miguel

We are interns from Poland. We was here only 2 weeks but if we could we wanted to stay longer.

We were making videos of the events that are taking place in Commun-IT (internet cafe shop)to help to promote the cafe. We created a gaming club video, homework club, after school coding club, holiday club and business networking presentations. We did a lot of research on business networking, Jacob learned how to make coffees and teas in the cafe.

Our group of students was sightseeing in London we saw Big Ben, History Museum, National Gallery and many more.

On our last night at Commun-IT in the cafe for a gaming night event with Casey, Shaka, Alex and Andreas it was nice, Chestnut and HalfMoose was destroying CeeFAR, Alexp331p and Butter(basska)XD. We experienced VR for the first time it was crazy.

WE MADE THE POSTER FOR DOG FOULING OUTSIDE THE CAFE ON MONDAY .

Bye Commun-IT

Hey there, we’re the interns from Germany!

We have stayed here in London for 4 weeks and it was a great experience.                                                                                                                                                                                                                         These weeks were like normal holidays for us, even the work here was good.                                                                                                                                                                                                                           It was a great atmosphere and we especially enjoyed the amazing coffee.                                                                                                                                                                                                               Moreover, London is a impressive city with lots of different options to do in your freetime. Our Highlights were the Club “Mistery of Sounds” and “Vertigo 42”.                                                               We are from a school near Cologne, which lays the focus on Design and Media, that’s why we had the task to fulfill different kinds of creative work,                                                                                          for example designing flyers and the menucard for the shop.

Eva & Sabrina

Hello,
we are the German students Eva & Sabrina. We did an internship at Commun-IT from 7/14/2017 until 28/7/2017.
Generally we both work in different jobs. Sabrina works at the “Sparkasse”, it’s a bank in Germany and Eva works at a industrial company called “Langmatz”.
At Commun-IT we had to search for information about schools in England, we created posters for the shop-window and supported the colleagues at the grand opening. We also had the chance to drive with the I.D.E.A.S. Bus.
On our next to last day, the boss Casey and the colleagues Shaka, Alex, Andreas and Sui Li invited us to play Topgolf in Watford. It was a great experience, we had so much fun while playing golf & pool and eating burgers.
All in all, it was a perfect evening.
At Commun-IT are wonderful, friendly and helpful people! We felt like in a small family 🙂
We will miss them all!

Thank you very much for everything
Eva & Sabrina

Sandra and Christina

Hello.
We are two students from Graz, Austria and we spent 3 weeks working here at Commun-IT. We had a great time and enjoyed our stay in London. Our job here was it to divide schools into regions for the I.D.E.A.S. Bus, which took quite a while to figure out the best way but we did it !!
We enjoyed the city very much, especially Camden Market, Sky Garden and basically all the sights in general.
The time we spent here has given us great insight into the world of work and the being part of the I.D.E.A.S. Bus was a great experience.
The one thing we should be remembered for is our extraordinary talent to solve Rubiks Cubes 😉

All the best
Christina and Sandra

Markus, Daniel & Sophia

Hello there!
We are three students from Germany each doing an apprenticeship in different fields of technology.
Sophia is a media designer at “Bayrischer Rundfunk”, Markus a programmer at “Phoenix” and Daniel works as a system engineer at “ING”.
Because we all attend the same school in Germany, we had the opportunity to participate in an internship here in London which lead us together at this place.
Being two times on the IDEAS Bus during our time here, we had the chance to visit schools and teach kids a little about technologies like 3D-Printing and VR which was quite enjoyable.
Other tasks involved designing a new company logo, sketching up the new offices and building a video wall.
The colleagues were always helpful and nice.
In our free time we were also quite active and did a lot of stuff. Here`s a list of our favorite activities, maybe you can get some inspiration for your time here:
– Watching a soccer match (Premier League)
– Tower Bridge Exhibition
– Brick Lane Market, Camden Market (boat tour available from Little Venice), Borough Market
– Day-Trip to Brighton (coastal town)
– Tower of London, all the free museums (Tate, Natural History, British, Royal Air Force), HMS Belfast
– Bike Tour (organized through ADC College)
– WB Harry Potter Studio Tour

As you can see there`s a ton of stuff to do while you`re here.
We very much enjoyed our time here and are thankful for the opportunity.

Leona & Klara

Hello,
we are Czech students Leona and Klara. We did an internship at Commun-IT from 02/05/2017 until 12/05/2017. We have such a good time here. We stayed in London two weeks at our host families. They were very nice and we were pleased to stay here. At the weekend we saw typical London sights like Big Ben, London Eye, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, Buckingham Palace etc. We also visited museum of wax figures Madame Tussauds.
At Commun-IT we worked in app business essentials, we filled in tags about schools. Then we worked with MS excel and MS word [we made a guide]. We also called to councils. It’s shame that we didn’t see a bus. All staff were very friendly and nice. It was valuable experience for us. Thank you very much.

Leona and Klara

Carolin & Laura

Hey Guys! 🙂 We are the two German Girls Carolin and Laura, who did an internship at Commun-IT from 11/04/2017 to 28/04/2017. Generally we both work in different industrial companies and do business administration. Laura works at Woerner GmbH & Co. KG, which produces centralized lubrication systems. Carolin works at Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KG, which produces needle bearings for example for the London Eye. We hope that the stay abroad in London will have positive impacts in our professional career. In our spare time we enjoy seeing typical sightseeing attractions of London for example the Tower Bridge, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and Oxford Street. Our highlight was definitely the Sky Garden with its amazing view. All in all it was an awesome experience to live and work in a metropolis as London. We are delighted that we got the opportunity to work on “The I.D.E.A.S. Bus” and presenting the latest technologies to younger pupils in primary schools as well as special needs schools. We became more confident in speaking English and working in a team of new people. At all time the staff of Commun-IT was very friendly and we were pleased to work with them.
We take the opportunity to say thank you for having us.
